We recently attended a gorgeous wedding held at the historic Smith’s Castle in North Kingstown, RI.  It was a completely picturesque Rhode Island wedding – overlooking the beautiful bay.
My favorite moment of the ceremony was when the ring bearer stood in the middle of the isle, probably thinking this whole event was for him. Suffice it to say, he did kind of steal the show.
The reception then took place at Quidnessett Country Club, which also has a stunning view of Narragansett Bay.
(While Tall Dad and I chose to be married in the middle of the summer, I truly love being a guest at the cooler month weddings. Here’s why: the dress selection for cooler months!  Another reason is that the humidity has generally left our tiny state, and, because of that, I can wear my hair down without having a wretched sweaty neck.)
Knowing that this wedding would be taking place along the water, I knew I wanted to find a blue dress.
Here was my inspiration:
Hair: Soft, romantic curls
Makeup: Focus on eyes, smokey blues
Jewelry: My wedding earrings (I wear them to every wedding for good luck)
Bag: I needed to bring a large neutral bag, so I could discreetly carry my breast-pump. Glam yet functional!
Shoes: Nude, small heel, perfect for dancing
And the finished product:
This dress was perfect for a new mom – the fabric didn’t cling to my belly, and the lace kept the attention away from my trouble spots.  I loved the 3/4 length sleeves, and the dress hand ample room for my new momma chest.  Plus – it was easy to get in and out of for my trips to the bathroom to pump.  Once again, glamourous, and functional 😉
Success!
