Time sure does pass quickly when you have a baby. One minute they are a newborn, and the next they are a two year old toddler, running around a playground and laughing with friends.
What seems like a long long time ago, in a galaxy far away, we dealt with a terrible foe.

My baby was teething.

When a baby is teething, new parents can feel pretty helpless. The precious bundle of joy may be having sleepless night or crying fits. He might even have a slight fever.
Now that Tall Dad and I feel like we are seasoned parents, we are already preparing for when our little lass (who is only two months old) starts to teeth….because some kids start teething early, and others have their teeth come in later.

You never know when it’s going to happen, or how your child may react.

So what exactly are the signs of teething?

Looks like a pretty awesome way to spend a week, right?

Nope. Not in the slightest!  But there are ways to tackle the woes of teething.

  • Rub your baby’s gums Use a clean finger and rub your baby’s gums – the pressure really helps! You can also rub your baby’s gums with a teething toy.
  • Something cold Chill a teething toy in the refrigerator, or get a chilled facecloth, and allow your baby to chew or suck on it.
  • Watch out for drool  Utilize bibs and keep wiping your baby’s face try. Sometimes excessive drool can cause babies to have pretty nasty diaper rashes – so possibly keep a layer of diaper cream on their tush.

  • Infants’ Advil  – This is my favorite over the counter remedy for my babies!

It is available for infants ages 6 to 23 months old in a non- staining, Dye-Free White Grape liquid, and is available at most drugstores — I bought mine at Walgreens. The concentrated Drops are alcohol-free and come equipped with a syringe for easy dosing, contains ibuprofen, and can relieve babies’ pain with up to 8 hours of relief in just one dose.

So even though time is flying by, and I know that the teething phase will be back in our lives before I know it, I feel prepared and confident!
