I adore Farm Fresh RI – especially because of their weekly delivered Veggie Boxes. Our second Winter Veggie Box was loaded with Thanksgiving goodness! I pick up my veggie box every week at East Side Mart – which is a public Veggie Box drop off site. If you have thought about signing up for a veggie box of your own – you’ll want to do so quickly! The Winter box is only for the months of November and December.
Here’s what was inside this week’s box and where it was from:
- Butternut Squash: Chase Farms – Portsmouth, RI
- Carrots: Four Town Farm – Seekonk, MA
- Kabocha (Buttercup) Squash:Wards – Sharon, MA
- Leeks: Wishing Stone Farm – Tiverton, RI
- Kohlrabi: Freedom Food Farm – Johnston, RI
- Potatoes: Maplewoods Farm – Portsmouth, RI
- Cranberries: Fairland Farms – North Attleboro, MA
- Kale: Wishing Stone Farm – Tiverton, RI
I can’t wait to make some food for ourselves and Itty Bitty! My mouth is already watering with ideas.
What would you make with one (or some) of these items? The one that is stumping me is the kohlrabi!

What a great idea! I don't know off the top of my head what I would make, but would certainly be hitting up Pinterest!!
I love veggies- wish I got a winter share from somewhere! Will prepare for the spring!
Making me jealous of your boxes!!! And I think Joanna has a great idea. I'm sure Pinterest will put any of my ideas to shame!
I'm making butternut squash puree on Thursday and would love some from a local farm. I love this veggie box idea!
