Author’s note: This is the third of a ten-part series recapping and examining the birth story of my Itty Bitty. Birth is a beautiful experience, but some can find the contents of the topic a bit squeemish. In light of this, please note that these posts are neither too graphic, nor are they full of unicorns and rainbows. They’re just the unfettered, unadulterated truth. And the truth is that birth is the most amazing experience of which I have been a part. By far. So, read on – learn, cry, laugh, but most of all, enjoy.

I thought my baby’s birth was weeks away, even after I lost my mucus plug, and a sudden desire to have a clean house.

I even made a video to my Itty Bitty, telling him about the current state I was in.

I expected my tiny baby would be arriving later that month…but I had hoped that he would arrive on April 4th. Hubby’s birthday is 3/3, mine is 5/5, so I thought it would be preeeeety cool if our Itty Bitty would land on 4/4.

After making this video, I tried to coax our baby out with a trip to Providence Community Acupuncture. They knew I was full term, and I asked my acupuncturist to place the needles in the places that might help jump start labor. I stayed there for forty-five minutes, took a bit of a nap, and left not really feeling any different.

Then I went on a three mile walk. Sure, I walked like E.T. on his Halloween stroll…plus I had to stop every hundred yards or so….but I was a pregnant woman on a mission.
