One of the coolest things about having a two year old toddler is the imaginative play that starts to take place. Some days he pretends he is a dragon, other days he and his friends make up their own world. But recently, one of his favorite toys to play in has been his new Cape Cottage Playhouse by Little Tikes. My two year old loves this outdoor toy so much that I couldn’t wait to review it and spread the love! 

Our neighborhood park has several little playhouses for the toddlers to play inside of, and I always knew I would want one in our own backyard at some point.  The Cape Cottage Playhouse is the perfect size for our little lad, and has also captivated our five year old and seven year old nieces. The children love opening and shutting the doors as well as the windows. 

This was one of the easiest kid toys that I have ever put together. The instructions were straightforward, and the pieces fit together nicely. 
The Cape Cottage was up and ready to be played in within 20 minutes! 
Most of the house is put together by either clicking pieces in, like the windows, or by big screws and a plastic screwdriver that is included in the kit. The only thing that needs a real screwdriver is the flag holder. 
My son helped me put together the playhouse, and was absolutely delighted when it was finished. The set comes with stickers for windows, house numbers, door knobs, and even a little mail slot.
The playhouse is a huge hit when we have playdates, and can easily fit 3 little ones inside. I’m excited to see how he and his friends evolve with this house overtime. Maybe they will pretend to be a mailman and drop off mail in the slot. 

Tall Dad’s favorite part of the Cape Cottage Playhouse is the slot for a flag – because he believes that every proper home needs to have an American flag!
The Cape Cottage can be used for inside or outside play, but we are keeping it in our backyard for now. Our little lad loves to bust open the window panes and yell “Hello!” to the birds flying by!

I adore this toy, and am so happy that we have it for our two year old boy. It is the perfect size, is durable, and is something that helps his imagination take flight!
