I love my son.  He loves me.  But you know what he hates?  Shoes.  Can’t stand them.  Every chance he gets, those shoes are coming off his feet faster than I can put them on.

Before he was walking, this wasn’t a big deal.  Shoes were only there for decoration.  If he kicked them off, who cares, right?  But then the walking began…

Hit the jump to find out how a company called “Freshly Picked” helped save my kids feet.

Walking had begun.  Our lives were over.  Our house was mega child proofed.  And we began the constant chasing.  Even while my child is sleeping as I write this blog entry, I still look around wearily for him out of habit.

But, this problem with the shoes was a major problem.  Tall Dad and I were always tripping over the shoes we tried to force on Itty Bitty because he was always taking them off and leaving them strewn about the house.  That is, until we got our hands on these phenomenal moccasins made by this company called “Freshly Picked.”

First off, Freshly Picked was started by Susan Petersen.  An extremely talented and determined woman, she single handedly built her company from scrap metal.  Intrigued? You can find out all about it here. Anyway, Susan was featured on the TV show Shark Tank, and she makes a stellar product.

Secondly, moccasins? For babies?  YES!  They are so stinkin’ cute.  Best of all, they have a soft sole which makes it much easier for Itty Bitty to walk on his own.  He can get a great feel for the ground below him.

The moccasins are made from a durable soft leather that feels smooth and soft to the touch.  Most importantly, they actually stay on Itty Bitty’s feet.  Try as he might to kick them off, the moccasins are held on his foot with a stretchy band at the top of the shoe.  And, because they are a soft sole, he can’t get a good enough grip on his feet to push them off.  They have survived even the worst kind of temper tantrums 🙂

I cannot tell you how many times mom’s have literally stopped me with Itty Bitty on a walk, or on a shopping trip to tell me how cute his little moccasins look on his feet.  Of course, it is nice to hear the compliment because they are indeed cute.  But, I really only have Itty Bitty in them because he can’t take them off!

Compliments and practical use?  Double score.

Now I just have to ask Susan to make them in adult size because I’ve got a feeling that these are the only shoes Itty Bitty will be wearing for the rest of his life….
