One of the many traditions after having a new baby is sending birth announcements out to loved ones near and far. My mom vividly remembers filling out my announcements the night I was born. Nowadays, most parents wait a week or two to send these delightful letters out in the mail, because they want to include photos of their tiny babies.
I decided to use photos from our newborn photo shoot, with Rhode Island photographer, Erica Shea, as well as the photo sharing website, Shutterfly, to create our birth announcements.
In addition to our friends and family, I have decided to send birth announcements to the President of the United States, as well as the second most important family in the land – Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Rumor has it that both will send a congratulations letter back – and I hope its true. That would be one super cool addition to Itty Bitty’s Baby Book!

We sent a wedding invitation to the White House, Micky and Minnie, and Cinderella and Prince Charming. Cinderella never got back to us, but we too received a nice post card from the Prez and Mickey.
I never thought about trying one of the princesses!
I have done this with all of my 3 kids and the president does respond.
Yes its so cool!!
For those of you that live in NJ, if you send one to Chris Christie, he will send you a hand-signed letter.
Did u ever get a response?
A friend of mine sent it to the president, disney and a few actors. She said the most memorable one was from John Travolta, his seemed more personal and congratulated both on their marriage.

I sent birth announcements to the White House with both of my boys. I also sent them a wedding invite when I got married ๐
That would be an amazing keepsake for your baby. Hopefully you get a reply since you did get one with your wedding invitation.
What? That is so cool. I had no idea that this was even a thing. How cool, I'm in Canada so obviously I wouldn't do this but this is very neat! – Jeanine
No way? They sent you a letter back from your wedding invite? That has to be the coolest thing ever ๐ Thanks for the info
I had no idea that you could send a baby announcement to the White House! It would be really cool to have a congratulations letter for a keepsake!
I've never heard that we can send a baby announcement to the White House! I think that is exclusively in your country.
I hadn't heard that, but oh my gosh what an addition to the baby book that would be. You have to share if it does happen!
I did not know you could send a birth announcement to the White House. I will have to share this with my friends that are expecting.
That is such a fun idea! I never knew you could do that
That is such a great idea that would make a nice memento for the child. I was invited to the White House a few years ago but I can imagine someone being just as excited to get a letter from the President or First Lady for a new baby.
What a fun idea!! I have never heard of this before, great memories for the baby book!
Good luck getting a response! That would be such a cool memento!
That would be really neat. I have never heard of that before.

How cool is that? It would make such a fun keepsake in the baby's room!
How nice that you got a response. I hope you also get reply for the birth announcement. I find it really cute when people as powerful and popular as him sends a reply.
