Red Ombre Lips | Stoic and Sizzling Splash Lipstick

There aren’t a lot of opportunities for this tall mom to be full glam now-a-days. Maybe I’ll have a wedding to attend, or a fancy date night, but normally I’m spending time at home with my two littles playing with playdough or outside in the snow. So when my hubby and I had the opportunity for a date night on New Year’s Eve, I jumped on the opportunity to have a reason to have a full face of glam makeup. I knew I wanted to do a bold red ombre lips , as well as a simple bright eye using my Moodstruck Addiction Palette 1, which is my favorite of the palettes and the one I always recommend to friends! While my husband and kiddos watched the NYE Football Game, I got my Glam on!

Winter in New England is often bitter cold, dry, and snowy (my favorite part!) To battle the onslaught of dry skin, I’ve been making sure to hydrate and moisturize properly, always using primer to seal in the moisture, and I’ve also been using my BB Cream mixed with some Skin Perfecting concealer to create a more dewey and fuller coverage look.

I did a simple eye look using Palette 1 in the colors Chipper, Elated, Brassy and Forthright. I used Chipper as a transition shade, Elated under my brow and on the main part of my lid, Brassy on the inner corner and Forthright on the outer V. To keep things simple, I used Forthright eyeshadow to fill in my brows, and also used it to line my top lash line. I topped things off with my EPIC Mascara.

But the real star of the show were my Red Ombre Lips! To create this look, I lined my lips with the red pencil lip liner in Primal. Then I used Stoic Splash Liquid Lipstick on the outer half of my lips, and the shade Sizzling Splash Liquid Lipstick on my inner lip. After blending the two together. To top things off, I dabbed my finger in the gold eyeshadow color from the Moodstruck Addiction Shadow Palette 1 – Brassy, and gentle applied it to the center of my pout.

I LOVED the way this look came out, and had a blast with my hubby out on the town. I also loved using my eyeshadows in different ways – shadow, liner, brows and lips!

I had a great time out on New Year’s Eve, and celebrated New Year’s Day with my littles. Granted, they woke me up a tad on the early side, as you can see in the picture below, but I wouldn’t want to spend the first day of 2018 with anyone else!
